The CEO of Literacy Ambassadors Ghana (LAG), Mr. Mathias Tulasi, has expressed strong support for President-Elect H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s proposal for a National Education Review Conference.
“Education is not a partisan issue,” Mr. Tulasi emphasized. “Providing equitable and quality education for all learners is in the best interest of everyone. It is education and enlightenment that lift a nation to the heights of progress and greatness.”
He highlighted the challenges currently plaguing Ghana’s education sector and stressed the urgent need for reform. “The shambles created in the education sector must be corrected,” he said. “The proposal for the review demonstrates John Dramani Mahama’s wisdom and vision as a leader committed to transforming the education sector for the better.”
The proposed National Education Review Conference aims to bring together some of the brightest minds in the country to assess and improve the education system. Attendees would include educators, policymakers, civil society organizations, NGOs, faith-based organizations, chiefs, opinion leaders, journalists, parents, and students. This diverse group would share insights and experiences on critical issues affecting education in Ghana.
“At this conference, participants would address pressing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of resources, insufficient funding, and unequal access to education for all children,” Mr. Tulasi explained. “Through thoughtful discussions and brainstorming sessions, they would develop innovative solutions to these problems.”
He expressed optimism that the collaborative efforts of stakeholders would lead to the creation of a more inclusive and effective education system, benefiting every child in Ghana. “By working together, we can usher in a new chapter in Ghana’s education journey—a future where every child has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to national progress.”
Mr. Tulasi concluded by emphasizing the transformative potential of the conference. “This event will mark the beginning of a brighter future for Ghana’s next generation, driven by collective effort and shared commitment to education.”
